P.U.N.T. FOUNDATION TO FORMALLY JOIN FORCES WITH CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL FOUNDATION TO ESTABLISH P.U.N.T. FUND

Buffalo, NY—The P.U.N.T. Foundation, a public charity founded by longtime Buffalo Bills punter Brian Moorman and his wife Amber in 2004, will bring its mission to help local families fighting pediatric cancer and the critical family support programs delivered through it under the umbrella of the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo (CHOB) Foundation as the newly established P.U.N.T. Fund.

Over the past five years, the P.U.N.T Foundation has grown significantly in scope and impact to run and fund six distinct programs that serve patients and families in Western New York being treated for pediatric cancer. With the opening of the Hematology/Oncology area on the 12th floor of the new John R. Oishei Children’s hospital, the P.U.N.T/Children’s collaboration will strengthen engagement, streamline resources, offset administrative costs and give a solid, long-term infrastructure to the current support being provided by the P.U.N.T. Foundation.

These programs currently include: Brian’s Locker (a mechanism for providing gas cards, grocery cards, parking and cafeteria vouchers), Game Day (private suite at New Era Field so kids with can- cer can safely and comfortably cheer on the Buffalo Bills), Helping Hands (direct financial as- sistance to help alleviate the financial burden of a pediatric cancer diagnosis), Adopt a Family (holi- day program), Field of Dreams (mini wish-granting program), and Remembrance Weekend (annual bereavement retreat).

“It had always been my hope that the P.U.N.T. Foundation could keep doing its work beyond my playing days,”􏰀said Brian Moorman, a fan favorite who was punter for the Buffalo Bills from 2001- 2013 who now resides in Florida and has continued to serve as the President of the P.U.N.T. Foun- dation Board of Directors. “To think that, through the amazing generosity of this community, the tireless passion and leadership of our Executive Director Gwen Mysiak assisted by Bridgett Moffett, and the continued commitment of our Board, we have experienced unprecedented growth since my time with the Buffalo Bills has ended, is just an extraordinary testament to the dedication that sur- rounds this organization and its purpose. We all concur that this wonderful opportunity to become an official part of Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation is a graduation of these efforts that will preserve these programs for years to come. We are all thrilled to be a part of this new chapter for the hospital, the families it serves and Western New York.”

The P.U.N.T. Fund will be continue to be led by Gwen Mysiak and guided by an independent advisory board comprised of several P.U.N.T. Foundation’s current board members, as well as representatives from other affiliated organizations and stakeholders, and the core mission, daily operations, and fundraisers will largely remain the same. The P.U.N.T. Foundation will be dissolved as a 501(c) (3) and its assets will be transferred to set up the P.U.N.T. Fund under the Children’s Hospital Foun- dation. These assets will be restricted to the P.U.N.T. programs that are being carried over.

“The P.U.N.T. Foundation has had a profound impact on children undergoing pediatric can- cer treatment in the new Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Hematology/Oncology Patient Suite at Oishei Children’s Hospital. As a fully integrated partner of The Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation, the P.U.N.T. Fund will continue to provide critical support services to help our kids and families thrive in the communities we serve,” said Allegra C. Jaros, MBA, Presi- dent, John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital
